The beautiful rich red color in this dress represents redemption. There's a story in the Old Testament where a group of people had been enslaved for many years. Once they finally received freedom, Pharoh changed his mind and went after them again, and a giant sea was in their way of escape. You should read for yourself the rest of this miraculous story, but it ends with all of Pharoh's army being swallowed up in the sea, once the people had safely crossed...on dry land. When they realized they were safe, Miriam led everyone in song and dance, thanking God for their redemption that came from a most gracious God. This is what Exodus 15:20 & 21 says, "Miriam the sister of Aaron was a prophet. So she took her tambourine and led the other women out to play their tambourines and to dance. Then she sang to them: “Sing praises to the Lordfor his great victory! He has thrown the horses and their riders into the sea.” (CEV) As you wear this dress may it remind you of this, and so many other reasons to praise God for His gracious redemption!
